We deepen understanding of HIV/AIDS through scientific insights, community engagement, and proactive education.The Pasteur Institute of India, located in Coonoor, Tamil Nadu, visit commenced with an informative session led by Dr. Sivanandha, who provided an overview of the institute's history, mission, and its pivotal role in vaccine development. He also discussed global and domestic opportunities in the biotechnology sector.
On 19th February 2020, the Pasteur Institute of India, Coonnor visited with about 50 microbiology students from Fathima Arts and Science college under the leadership of Asna M the Head of the Department of Microbiology. They arrived at the institute at 10: 00 am.The head of the institute welcomed the students and the visit cover a presentation about the history and the activities of the institute. The Quality controler head shows the different departments and explained to the students about how to prepare and analyse different types of vaccines like rabies vaccines and DTP vaccines. Then the students visit the Pasteur institute museum where they exposed antique microscopes, antibiotic production equipments, autoclaving equipments, and many other antique laboratory instruments. The head of the institute explain all the details about it and it will helped the students in a great extend. The visit was held with an aim that to know and understand more about the history of microbiology and it completely fullfilled with that industrial visit. The students explored the opportunity in a great way.
The microbiology department of Fathima arts and Science College organized a webinar on the topic " The pain and suffering during covid 19 pandemic; A neurophysiological perspective, through Google meet platform on 14 th October 2020 at 10: 30Am (IST ). Ms.Shijili Ayoob microbiology student of Fathima college, welcomed the delegates and the session was inaugurated by Dr. Raveendran Pillai, Principal of Fathima Arts and Science College. Dr. Nesin Mathew Sibin, assistant professor, department of psychology, CHRIST, Kengeri campus was the resource person and she delivered a talk on that session. There was 150 participants in that session. The entire session including the interaction and discussion were ended successfully. The IQAC Coordinator Mr Rohit Raveendran was the moderator of the entire session and he also managed the registration. Ms Asna M, HOD of microbiology gave away vote of thanks and the participants were asked to fill up a feedback form to get the participation certificate at the end.

Mr Anshid, an alumnus of Fathima College, trained the microbiology students. The programm was on 22th, February 2019, Mr Ansid took a detailed class on the Hazard Analysis and Critical Control program (HACCP )and the quality control program, which discussed the quality control tests and analysis of water and food. The knowledge imparted on the ISO paper presentation was also helpful to the students to understand the future opportunities in microbiology and job realities.
Avodha edu tech, India's largest skill development platform in collaboration with the Department of Microbiology, has organized a webinar at Fathima Arts and Science college. The webinar was held on March 26, 2022 at 11:30 am on the Google Meat platform. Webinar's aim was to plan your career in the perfect way. The session, chaired by Avodha edu Tech Bangalore's Career Expert Ms Anuja Raj, she focused on career counseling, job training, and post covid opportunities. Avodha edu tech's career class was a guide line to new opportunities for future life for students.
The Maths Department of Fathima Arts and Science college conducted a Maths Quiz competition in honor of Indian Mathematician Sreenivasa Ramanujan as part of the National Mathematics Day celebrations on 21st December 2021.In this competition, two students from each department was participated. First-year microbiology student Mr Nihal, competed hard until the finals and won the first prize. On the next day's Christmas celebration, College Vice-Principal Ajeesh T Kurian distributed the prize to Nihal.
The University Level C - Zone Competition is the biggest celebration of college life. It's a time of celebration, happiness, sharing of friendships, and above all of that time of various contests, victory and defeats. They were the moments that every student always keeps in their mind. Thushara P Das, a Bsc Microbiology student represented Moothedam Fathima Arts and Science college, who won third prize in the Classical Dance category at the Calicut University Union C- Zone Art Fest "Be Brialo" held at the Calicut University Campus from February 26th to March 3rd, 2019. Arts Union officials presented certificate to Thushara for who reached the university level and achieved great success.
The Food Technology Department of MES Arts and Science College Perinthalmanna was organized the Bennigans 2k 18 encore food fest Intercollegiate meet.The event was held on 7th, November 2018, featured a number of different competitions. Students from Fathima Art and science College actively participated in this fest. Melvin Philip Joseph and Shaheena. A, second-year microbiology students who represented the Fathima College, and won the first place in the snapshot and second place in the Alchemistz quize competition respectively. It was an amazing experience.The Food Festival provided the students with a matchless experience in event management and food production skills.
The Department of Microbiology successfully conducted a full-day workshop on "Certification for a Career in the Food Industry" on 5th February 2025. The workshop aimed to provide students with insights into the importance of certification, career opportunities, and skill development in the food industry. The event saw the enthusiastic participation of all students from the Microbiology Department.
The workshop began with an inaugural session, where principal Rev. father Shibin P James delivered the welcome address, highlighting the significance of certifications in the food industry and the role of microbiology in ensuring food safety and quality.

Dr. Sheeba Veluthoor, Founder, Director, and Quality Manager of CoreValleys Technologies Pvt. Ltd., Kozhikode, delivered the first session. She shared her expertise in food quality assurance, emphasizing the importance of research and testing in food, water, and soil quality management.
Dr. Sheeba, with her extensive research experience from institutions like NIIST, Oregon State University (USA), Institute Curie (Paris), and Tokyo Institute of Technology, provided students with an in-depth understanding of the latest advancements in food safety regulations, certification processes, and industry standards. She encouraged students to explore research opportunities and internships in the food industry.
Session 2: Branding and Career Development in the Food Industry
Resource Person: Mr. Rabeesh Bhaskaran
The second session was conducted by Mr. Rabeesh Bhaskaran, Director of Engli5h Academy, who has over 15 years of experience in marketing, advertising, branding, and corporate communications. He guided students on personal branding, effective communication skills, and strategies for career advancement in the food industry.
Mr. Rabeesh, an MBA graduate from Mahatma Gandhi University and an Advanced Multimedia Specialist from ARENA Multimedia, highlighted the importance of presentation skills, networking, and industry certifications to enhance employability. He also shared insights from his professional journey, emphasizing the role of digital marketing and branding in the food business.

Both sessions were highly interactive, with students actively engaging in discussions. Dr. Sheeba and Mr. Rabeesh addressed queries related to certification courses, career paths in food microbiology, entrepreneurship opportunities, and skill development.
