World Environment Day Celebration

The Nature Club of Fathima Arts and Science College, Moothedam, organized a World Environment Day program on June 5, 2024, with the motto "Earth is Our Home." The event was inaugurated by the college principal, Prof. Dr. Geetha Janet Vitus, in association with Moothedam Panchayat. Several ward members of the panchayat also participated in the program.As part of the event, Nature Club students conducted a cleaning drive along the public roadside from Kashayappadi to Maramvettichal, as well as in the surrounding areas of the college. The initiative aimed to spread awareness about environmental conservation and promote cleanliness in the community.

On Wednesday, March 27, 2024, a reading club was formed under the auspices of the Malayalam department at Fatima Arts and Science College, Moothedam. The club, which was started with the aim of developing the language skills of the children, acquiring the ability to use language in the creative process, and also developing reading and presentation skills, initially had 30 members. Under the leadership of Malayalam department teacher M. Sreelatha, first year student Anupriya was elected as the president and B.A. first year student Nikhil was elected as the secretary.

The Faculty Development Programme (FDP) was successfully conducted under FACE (Fathima Academic Centre For Excellence), the initiative of Fathima Arts and Science College, Moothdam, on 23 rd May 2025.
The program was designed to enhance the pedagogical, technological, and research capabilities of faculty members and promote continuous professional growth.
The sessions included expert talks, interactive workshops, and hands- on training, covering themes such as modern teaching methodologies, curriculum innovation, use of digital tools in education, and research and publication ethics. The FDP witnessed enthusiastic participation from faculty members across various departments. In compliance with the UGC regulations and the provisions of the Sexual Harassment of Women at Workplace (Prevention, Prohibition and Redressal) Act, 2013, Fathima Arts and Science College, Moothedam, has constituted an Internal Complaints Committee (ICC) to ensure a safe, respectful, and inclusive campus environment. The ICC is responsible for addressing complaints of sexual harassment and related grievances among students, faculty, and staff. The committee comprises senior faculty members, a student representative, and an external member from a registered NGO or legal background, ensuring fairness, transparency, and confidentiality in all proceedings.
The committee actively conducts awareness programmes, workshops, and orientation sessions to educate the campus community on gender sensitivity, legal rights, and preventive measures. Regular meetings are held to review and update policies in accordance with national guidelines.
