World Environment Day Celebration

The Nature Club of Fathima Arts and Science College, Moothedam, organized a World Environment Day program on June 5, 2024, with the motto "Earth is Our Home." The event was inaugurated by the college principal, Prof. Dr. Geetha Janet Vitus, in association with Moothedam Panchayat. Several ward members of the panchayat also participated in the program.As part of the event, Nature Club students conducted a cleaning drive along the public roadside from Kashayappadi to Maramvettichal, as well as in the surrounding areas of the college. ED Club Inauguration Ceremony

The Entrepreneurship Development (ED) Club of Fathima Arts and Science College, Moothadam, under the banner “FUTUREPRENEURS—Where Vision Meets Action,” was inaugurated on 22nd August 2025 at 10:00 AM in the Smart Room. The event was organized under the guidance of the Internal Quality Assurance Cell (IQAC).The program commenced with a prayer song, invoking blessings for the success of the initiative. Ms. Jissy Mathai (Club Coordinator) delivered the Welcome Address, extending a warm greeting to the dignitaries, faculty, and students. The Presidential Address was delivered by Fr. Dr. Shibin P. James (Principal), who highlighted the importance of entrepreneurial skills and innovation in the present academic and professional scenario.

The formal Inauguration Ceremony was marked by the Lighting of the Lamp by Fr. Shibin P. James, Ms. Linet Joseph (Chief Guest, ASACO Mattress), Fr. Abraham Pathackal (CEO & Bursar), Dr. Najiya Beegam (IQAC Coordinator), and Ms. Jissy Mathai (Club Coordinator). Following this, the Official Inaugural Speech was delivered by the Chief Guest, Ms. Linet Joseph, who emphasized the need for creativity, perseverance, and risk-taking in entrepreneurship.The event also witnessed a Prize Distribution Ceremony, encouraging and appreciating student achievements.

Felicitation speeches were delivered by Fr. Abraham Pathackal and Dr. Najiya Beegam, both of whom congratulated the club members and motivated students to make use of the opportunities provided by the ED Club.The Vote of Thanks was proposed by Ms. Afna Mujeeb (Student Coordinator), who expressed gratitude to all the dignitaries, faculty members, and students for their support and participation.

NextGen innovators competition

The Entrepreneurship Development (ED) Club of Fathima Arts and Science College organized an individual competition titled Nextgen Innovators on 19th August 2025 at the Smart Room. The program began at 2:00 PM with a welcome address by Ms. Jissy Mathai, ED Club Coordinator. A total of ten participants actively presented their innovative and creative ideas before the panel of judges, which included Mr. Prince Francis, Head of the Department of Economics, and Mr. Nikhil C, Head of the Department of Commerce. After an engaging and competitive session, the winners were declared: First Prize was awarded to Muhammed Jaseel, Second Taxation, and Second Prize was secured by Yadhu Krishnan of First B.Com Finance. The event served as an excellent platform for students to showcase their entrepreneurial talents and inspired them to think innovatively, making the competition a remarkable success.

Talents Hunt (Product Marketing Competition)

The Talents Hunt (product marketing competition) was organized by the Entrepreneurship and Development Club (ED Club) on 19-08-2025. The event was conducted as a team competition with three members in each team, and a total of six teams participated. The competition was held from 11:15 a.m. to 11:30 a.m., where each team was given 15 minutes to sell their assigned products.

The teams came forward with creative and innovative ideas to market their products effectively. They showcased strong communication skills, teamwork, and confidence while presenting. The event created an engaging atmosphere and gave students a practical experience in product marketing and selling strategies.

After the performances, the results were announced. The first prize was won by Abhishek C B, Abin Vijay, and Adhil from B.com Finance. The second prize was secured by Sana from B.Com. Taxation, along with Afna Mujeeb and Dilfa from Computer Science.

Overall, the Talents Hunt (Product Marketing) competition was a successful and memorable event. It reflected the enthusiasm, creativity, and marketing potential of the participants, while also highlighting the importance of teamwork and innovative thinking in business.

Food Fest

As part of the Freshers’ Day 2025 celebrations, the Entrepreneurship and Development (ED) Club organized Ghaana Galli—Food Stall on 11th September 2025 at Fathima Arts and Science College.

CLUB INAUGURATION AND A WORKSHOP ON “PSYCHOLOGICAL FIRST AID”

Psy-Log Club of Fathima Arts and Science College has organized an inaugural session along with a workshop on psychological first aid on 9th September 2025 at 10.30 am in the Smart Room. The program was coordinated by Ms. Neethu M and Ms. Dilsa Nasreen, Assistant Professors of the Department of Psychology. The event began with a prayer by the Choir Team, followed by a welcome speech delivered by Ms. Neethu M, Assistant Professor and Coordinator of Psy-Log Club. The Presidential Address was delivered by Mr. Philip Nainan, Head of the Department of Travel and Tourism, who emphasized the significance of psychology in today’s world and the relevance of student initiatives like Psy-Log Club. The official inauguration of the club was carried out by Ms. Srithila, Consultant Psychologist, Soft Mind Clinic, Thrissur. In her inaugural address, she highlighted the importance of psychological awareness and skill-based interventions such as Psychological First Aid in academic and community settings. The session was graced with felicitations from distinguished dignitaries Rev. Fr. Abraham George Pathakkal (Bursar), Ms. Neethu K (Head of the Department of Psychology), and Mr. Sabu Ponmelil (PRO of the college).

The Vote of Thanks was proposed by Ms. Dilsa Nasreen, Assistant Pro fessor and Coordinator of Psy-Log Club, who expressed gratitude to the dignitaries, faculty, and students for their support and participation. Following the formal function, a technical session on psychological first aid was led by Ms. Srithila, consultant psychologist. The session was highly interactive and provided valuable insights into the practical applications of psychological support in crisis situations. The inauguration and workshop were successful in creating awareness among students about the scope of psychology and the importance of mental health support systems.

SUICIDE PREVENTION AWARENESS PROGRAM

The Psy-Log Club of Fathima Arts and Science College, Moothedam, organized a Suicide Prevention Day Awareness Dance Program on 10th September 2025 at the college auditorium. The program was conducted in connection with World Suicide Prevention Day, observed globally to spread awareness on the importance of mental health and to promote hope and resilience. The event was led by the club coordinators, Ms. Neethu M and Ms. Dilsa Nasreen. The highlight of the program was a theme-based dance performance by the members of the Psy-Log Club, which conveyed a strong message on the value of life, the struggles faced by individuals dealing with suicidal thoughts, and the importance of support, empathy, and timely intervention. The performance not only created awareness among students but also evoked an emotional response, reminding everyone of the collective responsibility to stand by those in distress. The program concluded with giving a massage that extended kindness and support to peers, fostering a more compassionate campus environment. The awareness initiative by the Psy-Log Club was well-received and appreciated by the audience, marking the day as a meaningful step toward promoting positive mental health and suicide prevention.

Quiz Competition – “Know Your Nation”

As part of the 78th Independence Day celebrations, the Quiz Club of Fathima Arts & Science College, Moothedam, in association with IQAC, organized an interdepartmental quiz competition titled “Know Your Nation” on 14th August 2025 at the Smart Room. The event was coordinated by Ms. Jincy T. J. and Ms. Najma P. (Assistant Professor), with Mr. Nikhil C. (Assistant Professor) serving as Quiz Master.

The competition aimed to instill patriotism and enhance awareness about India’s history, culture, and freedom struggle. Students from various departments participated enthusiastically in multiple engaging rounds covering history, geography, politics, current affairs, and national personalities.

The first prize was secured by Jinshad V. S. and Muhammed Salim (II B.Com Finance), while the second prize went to Anshiba and Rumana (III B.A. History). Winners were awarded certificates for their commendable performance.

Onam Quiz Competition 2k25

As part of the Onam celebrations, the Quiz Club of Fathima Arts & Science College, Moothedam, in association with the Internal Quality Assurance Cell (IQAC), organized an Onam Quiz Competition on Wednesday, 27th August 2025, at 10:00 AM in the Smart Room of the college.

The event commenced with a warm welcome to all participants and faculty members. The quiz was designed to enhance students’ knowledge of the cultural and traditional aspects of Onam while also promoting general awareness. Teams representing various departments actively participated, making the competition both engaging and vibrant.

The quiz comprised multiple rounds covering topics such as Onam traditions, Kerala culture, literature, history, and general knowledge. The participants showcased remarkable enthusiasm, teamwork, and competitive spirit throughout the event, while the audience also enjoyed the interactive rounds and cheered for their respective teams.

At the conclusion of the competition, the winning team was awarded prizes and certificates in recognition of their commendable performance. The program proved to be a great success, fostering cultural awareness and team spirit among students.

On Wednesday, March 27, 2024, a reading club was formed under the auspices of the Malayalam department at Fatima Arts and Science College, Moothedam. The club, which was started with the aim of developing the language skills of the children, acquiring the ability to use language in the creative process, and also developing reading and presentation skills, initially had 30 members. Under the leadership of Malayalam department teacher M. Sreelatha, first year student Anupriya was elected as the president and B.A. first year student Nikhil was elected as the secretary.

International Yoga Day Celebration

The SWASTHYA Wellness Club of our college successfully organized a yoga class on 20 June 2025 in the college general hall as part of the observance of International Yoga Day. The event was conducted with the objective of promoting physical and mental well-being among students, while instilling a sense of calm, focus, and balance in their daily lives.

A total of 19 students actively participated in the session, reflecting their enthusiasm towards wellness and self-care. The class was led by Ms. Vijikrishna and Ms. Krishnapriya, Coordinators of the Wellness Club, who guided the participants with dedication and expertise. The session included a combination of yoga postures (asanas), breathing techniques (pranayama), and meditation practices, designed to accommodate participants of varying levels of experience.

The response from the students was highly positive. Many participants expressed their appreciation for the session, highlighting the benefits of reduced stress, improved flexibility, and enhanced concentration. The program not only encouraged students to embrace yoga as a tool for physical fitness but also as a practice for mental clarity and inner peace

Fathima Arts & Science College, Moothedam, affiliated with the University of Calicut, successfully conducted the FYUG Induction Programme 2025 on 14th July at 10:30 AM in the Seminar Hall. The event, organized in association with the Internal Quality Assurance Cell (IQAC) and Student Support Programme (SSP), was designed to welcome and orient the incoming undergraduate students as they begin their academic journey under the National Education Policy (NEP) 2020. The program began with a solemn prayer, setting a reflective tone for the day. Mr. T. K. Satheesan, Staff Secretary, delivered the welcome address, emphasizing the importance of the induction and encouraging students to take full advantage of the opportunities offered by the college. The formal inauguration was conducted by Rev. Fr. Dr. Shibin P. James, Principal of Fathima Arts & Science College, who spoke about the value of holistic education and urged students to pursue both academic excellence and personal growth. Felicitation by Mr. Nithin Kumar and Ms. Sandra Surendran, esteemed coordinators of the Student Support Programme (SSP). The In-House Inauguration of the Fathima Arts and Science College Website was successfully held on 17th July 2025 in the Smart Classroom from 2:30 PM to 3:30 PM. The program aimed to officially launch the renewed college website and showcase its updated features and design to the faculty and staff. The session was anchored by Ms. Kavya V.R,who coordinated the proceedings smoothly and professionally. The event commenced with a welcome address by Ms. Dilsa from the Department of Psychology, who warmly greeted the gathering and highlighted the significance of digital platforms in academic institutions.

Following this, Ms. Monisha P.P,the Website In-Charge, presented a detailed report outlining the development process, key updates, and features of the renewed website. The website was officially inaugurated by the principal, Rev. Fr. Dr. Shibin P. James, along with Fr. Abraham George Pathackal, CEO and chief bursar. The symbolic click-launch moment marked the official unveiling of the website. A website walkthrough presentation was given by Ms. Amrutha, who demonstrated the navigation, structure, and newly integrated sections of the site.

Felicitations were delivered by Ms. Najiya Beegum, IQAC Coordinator, and Ms. Jinu Mathai, faculty of the Computer Science Department. They appreciated the efforts behind the website’s development and emphasized its value for academic visibility. FYUGP 2025 Inaugural Day

The FYUGP 2025 Batch Inaugural Programme at Fathima Arts and Science College, Moothedam, was held on 1st July 2025 with enthusiastic participation from staff, students, and dignitaries. The event began with a prayer song and the lighting of the ceremonial lamp, symbolizing the start of the academic year.

Dr. Najia Beegum (IQAC Coordinator) delivered the Welcome Address, followed by the Inaugural Address from Dr. R. Bindhu, Hon. Minister for Higher Education, who emphasized inclusive education, digital literacy, and global readiness. Rev. Fr. Dr. Shibin P. James, Principal, in his Presidential Address, highlighted the college’s mission and encouraged holistic learning. Rev. Fr. Abraham Pathackal, CEO & Bursar, delivered the keynote address, focusing on innovation and adaptability in education.

Felicitation was offered by Sri. Philip Nainan (HOD, Travel & Tourism Management), stressing industry-relevant skills. Student representative Arya Devi (PG Department of Commerce & Management Studies) shared her experiences, followed by a digital alumni presentation.

Orientation sessions were led by Sri. Nithin Kumar (HOD, Management Studies) on FYUGP and Sri. Abdul Latheef KP (NSS Coordinator) on NSS, introducing students to campus rules, clubs, the academic calendar, and mentorship.

In compliance with the UGC regulations and the provisions of the Sexual Harassment of Women at Workplace (Prevention, Prohibition and Redressal) Act, 2013, Fathima Arts and Science College, Moothedam, has constituted an Internal Complaints Committee (ICC) to ensure a safe, respectful, and inclusive campus environment. The ICC is responsible for addressing complaints of sexual harassment and related grievances among students, faculty, and staff. The committee comprises senior faculty members, a student representative, and an external member from a registered NGO or legal background, ensuring fairness, transparency, and confidentiality in all proceedings.
The committee actively conducts awareness programmes, workshops, and orientation sessions to educate the campus community on gender sensitivity, legal rights, and preventive measures. Regular meetings are held to review and update policies in accordance with national guidelines.
